The American Religious Context: a Tradition of No Tradition

The parish building in Minot is still in the process of being gutted and cleaned.  Fr. Anastasios thought it would be more appropriate for us in Fargo to help them at a later stage, when refurbishing the temple.

In the meantime, I wish to start posting a little more regularly and thought I’d start with an interesting op ed piece:

I think Pastor Lillian Daniel has her finger on an important button, here.  For, when one claims he/she is “spiritual but not religious,” one really means God is no bigger than his/her own conceptions.  As Pastor Daniel noted, that’s not the same thing as struggling with one’s conceptions within a tradition.  Those of us who are Orthodox Christians ought to know that quite well!
